The universe is made up of stories, and some of these are made by fifty five schoolcommunity leaders who came together to learn on how to effectively share their stories of success and excellence in the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) Seal of Excellence in Education Development (SEED) 2017 Presentation Skills Training.
Held last January 25 and 26 at St. Mark’s Hotel, the event was attended by principals, barangay officials, parents-leaders, teachers, and even businessmen from the SEED Top 5 finalist schools in both elementary and secondary categories.
Joining them were the resource speakers from RAFI who shared their expertise – Caroline Ballesteros of Reputation Management Team on Professional Image and Public Speaking Modules; Elisabeth Baumgart of Eduardo Aboitiz Development Studies Center on Choosing and Organizing Content; Ramonchito Jaca of Audit on Preparing Compelling Visual Presentations; and, Daphne Dia of Kool Adventure Camp on Effective Delivery.
The training, which was filled with a series of topics and activities including simulation, aimed to equip the school stakeholders with knowledge and skills that will help them share their stories and advocate their initiatives for education development. Participants were taught how to highlight and promote what they do best in their respective schools through effective storytelling.
“All topics discussed in the two-day skills training were essential and beneficial to me. It was very commendable and very helpful especially to the beginners” one barangay official shared.
Another teacher also recommended that the program be cascaded during the In-service Training of the teachers. She added, “This is the total package program in education. To RAFI SEED, may you continue to inspire.”
The Presentation Skills Training is a preparatory activity for the SEED 2017 Panel Presentation and Interview and EdX (Education Excellence) where the Top 5 finalist schools showcase their best practices in 4 key result areas in education – Organizational Management, Instruction, Learning Environment and Performance.
