Subangadaku Elementary School (SES) in Mandaue City now have 60 new smart TVs to aid both teachers and students in instruction and learning, respectively.

The SES was named winner in the elementary category of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. Seal of Excellence in Education Development (RAFI SEED) award and brought home P1.5 million in grant award.

A portion of the grant award was used to purchase the smart TVs, which the teachers now use as media to effectively deliver their everyday lessons. SES teachers have used the smart TVs in their English and Science classes.

“We are very thankful to the RAFI SEED award for the newly installed smart TVs in our classrooms. These have helped increase the attendance of our pupils and have helped the teachers in the preparation and delivery of their daily lessons,” said Alma Bardoquillo, head of SES.

RAFI, in close partnership with the Department of Education, seeks to help public schools in the pursuit of continuous improvement in delivering quality education through the RAFI SEED program. The partnership hopes to have more schools join the program and engage more school communities.

Overseeing the implementation of the SEED program is RAFI’s Education Development Unit.

The Education Development Unit of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI-EDU) helps in the formation of effective learning environments by providing high-quality, cost-effective school infrastructure and by capacitating school communities for the continuous improvement of learning outcomes.
