What is Bugsay?
Bugsay [bug-say] is a Cebuano word for paddle or sagwan. It symbolizes an individual's talent, desire, and ability. We believe that every person in this world is given a bugsay, or internal resources, that give us the power to work towards our goals and destiny. You can either remain motionless, let the ocean take you, or power through difficult waves. At the end of the day, it's your choice to make. This is the Bugsay Philosophy®.
The Bugsay Philosophy®:
A Fisherman's Story
Everyday, at dusk, the fisherman embarks on his fishing journey in his barrio. Armed with his fishing gear and a bugsay, he navigates towards a destination he has carefully planned in mind.
With unwavering faith in his instincts, he sets out to secure a plentiful catch to sustain his family and sell the surplus. He has a plan, and he believes in his plan.
Each stroke of his paddle propels him closer to his targeted spot, adjusting course as needed to navigate the currents, waves, and winds. He chooses to stick to his plan. To stop paddling is not part of the plan.
And day after day, his perseverance pays off in the form of a bountiful catch, reinforcing his sense of purpose and accomplishment.
