The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI) launches a stronger, more robust information security system that further protects the foundation from cyber threats.
The RAFI Information Technology unit has built the foundation’s very own Security Operations Center (SOC), which allows for the extensive monitoring and prevention of cyber threats. The SOC ensures for the swift detection and investigation of cyber threats upon the organization and responds to these quickly and carries out immediate recovery measures.
“Through the SOC, we can continuously monitor the foundation’s ability to operate securely. The IT team monitors and protects RAFI’s assets, including intellectual property, personnel data, business systems, and brand integrity,” shared Joseph Mark Acapulco, IT Security Operations Manager.
With the SOC up and running, the RAFI Information Technology unit can further study cyber threats and identify measures to ensure that similar threats and attacks do not happen in the future.
The RAFI Information Technology team was quick to adapt to the changes and digital trends in the workspace, shifting from legacy systems and leading the organization’s digital transformation. They set the foundations for telecommuting work opportunities and provided extensive support as the organization shifted towards a work-home set-up.
With these agile shifts, the team, through the SOC, ensured the safety of every RAFInian in the digital space. The SOC ensures the implementation of various safety frameworks –such as “Zero Trust” – and aligns these with the current and future state of the organization. With all these safety measures in place, the organization fully complies with Data Privacy regulations and ISO 27001: Information Security Management.
The SOC is committed towards increasing the level of maturity of every RAFInian towards Cyber Security Awareness. “RAFInians are the biggest asset in maintaining a safe and secure digital environment,” shared Acapulco.
The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. encourages cyber security and safety among every RAFInian and stakeholder. The SOC stresses that “Security is everyone’s responsibility,” highlighting that the people are the foundation towards strong security systems.
