Some 104 young student leaders from different schools and local government units (LGUs) in Metro Cebu attended the Club Mega General Assembly last June 16, 2018 at the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. – Eduardo Aboitiz Development Studies Center (RAFI-EADSC).

Club Mega, headed by its executive chairman Divine Grace Cañon, organized the assembly with the goal of gathering and encouraging the youth to be more proactive and participative in community development. Club Mega is a youth organization which promotes awareness and support for the Mega Cebu vision.

Gordon Alan P. Joseph, Executive Committee chairman of the Metro Cebu Development and Coordinating Board Research, Program, and Organizational Development (MCDCB-RPOD), who was the guest speaker, encouraged the student leaders to waste no time in mobilizing the youth so as to be the loudest voice in speaking up to the government leaders.

“The best thing that you can do, which you can do together, is to speak as one voice for a better Cebu. It’s time to let our leaders know that there are young people out there, voters, who want something better than what we have today,” Joseph added.

The Governance and Linkages Unit of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI-G&L) seeks to foster responsive institutions and an engaged citizenry through awards and recognition, good governance and leadership development programs, and active linkages and platforms of engagement and collaboration.
