The Kabilin Center, a cultural hub for artistic expression is thrilled to announce the opening of “Lantao: Through the Lens of Design,” an exhibit showcasing the next generation of Cebuano designers. This year’s graduate thesis exhibition from the University of the Philippines Cebu’s Product Design of the Fine Arts Program features four captivating design themes: Studio Motion, Well-being, Material Development, and Identity.
From July 10 to 24, 2024, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM the exhibition is open to the public to explore these innovative works for just a P50.00 entry fee.

– LIMBAGA – HARA shoe collection a shoe collection crafted by local artisans from Carcar City in the southern part of Cebu, features designs that incorporate Hablon fabric from Argao and embroidery from Inayagan, Naga

– YANOLA – Agroways garlic peel fibers into functional, aesthetically pleasing items by stabilizing them with composites and innovative manufacturing techniques

- BEDIA – KAWAL: an inspiration from the samurai warrior to create the mecha known today as the Gundam mobile suit, KAWAL aims to do the same by tapping into the rich and diverse warrior cultures found throughout Filipino history.

- PANCITO – The Kalaw Collection: Tikog Banig Beach Bags Collection draws inspiration to the Kalaw bird, an endemic and endangered bird found in the Philippines.
- REGIDOR – Reroma: Designing New-Age Nails Through Combining Digital Fabrication with Traditional Nail Art.

- BARLAM – The BINIBINI Collection: Shaping Confidence: Empowering Plus – Sized Filipino Women with Inclusive Shapewear Designs
- CABATINGAN – Beam; The Honeycomb Valley: a collection of interactive storytelling block sets that offer an immersive, social, and educational experience to teach children the different parables from God’s word.
- COLLADO – Project CATCHER: presents a solution to plastic pollution in rivers, an innovative trap designed with a collaborative approach, utilizes locally available materials to capture plastic debris before it reaches the ocean
- GALAN – CLUB—ING: A mini adaptive fashion line that celebrates the spirit of girlhood for Filipina women with physical disabilities.
