Technology can be a strategic tool in driving social impact.
Committed to working with communities to elevate their well-being, the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI), in partnership with SM City Cebu, hosts its first-ever technology expo designed to merge technology and advocacy. Entitled “Techvocacy 2023: Bridging Opportunities to Empower NGOs” aims to bridge non-profit organizations, academic institutions, and public sector organizations with diverse technology providers in the Philippines to create an avenue that can strengthen the capacity for social impact.
From August 15 to 30, 2023 at SM City Cebu, Northwing Atrium, civil society organizations will discover new ways to deepen their social impact with the introduction of new technologies and solutions into their processes, projects, and programs.
Techvocacy 2023 will host exhibits from various government agencies, civil society organizations and technology partners along with fun and interactive activities. The event also features a 2-day learning and collaboration expo for non-profit and technology partners on August 17 and 18. Representatives from civil society organizations will showcase their initiatives and advocacies, while technology partners will introduce digital innovations, products, and solutions that could contribute to their key result areas.
“There are many technology solutions that can help social development organizations in driving social impact. By leveraging on technology and improving our systems and processes with technology innovations, non-profits can strengthen their operations and achieve their social missions. Through Techvocacy 2023, we hope to spark conversations and create a space where non-profits, the academe, and government agencies connect with strategic technology partners and identify areas of collaboration and synergy,” shared Jade Gadiane, Information Technology Director of RAFI.
Presenters for the 2-day learning and collaboration expo include information technology leaders Microsoft, Secon, VST ECS Phils., Inc., Automated Technologies, Inc., Telcom Live Content, Inc., ePLDT, Trends and Technologies, and Noventiq who will present their latest innovations and solutions which may be useful to non-profits and their social mission. Government presenters will feature the Central Visayas Information Sharing Network, Department of Science and Technology 7, Department of Information and Communications Technology 7, and the Department of Education 7, and their IT roadmaps and digital transformation plans for Central Visayas. Non-profit and academic institution presenters include Kaabag sa Sugbo, Central Visayas Network of NGOs, RAFI, AFOS Foundation, Inc., the University of San Carlos, and CIT-University, who will present their advocacies and opportunities for tech collaboration.
From August 15 to 30, non-profits, academic institutions, and government agencies are invited to participate in the two-week long expo and visit the booths of non-profit organizations, technology partners, academic institutions, and government organizations. at SM Cebu City, the Northwing Atrium.
