LEAD Summit 2022 Tadlas

Education stakeholders across various sectors are set to come together to support learners in Cebu and address pressing education concerns.

The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., through its Education and Development Unit (RAFI EDU), will host the 2nd Leadership and Education Action for Development LEAD Summit on December 1–3, 2022. The summit is designed to support education leaders and stakeholders in Cebu in achieving learning recovery and resiliency. Approximately 200 participants are expected to attend the event, including representatives from regional and national offices of the Department of Education and international and industry partners.

This 3-day event aims to spark conversations acknowledging educational gaps and to foster a collaborative community working together to create and implement development action plans as an intervention to help address the current education situation.

“RAFI EDU values the spirit of collaboration in creating greater impact. We believe that coming together as an education collective, we can leverage on each other’s strengths, knowledge, and expertise to provide immediate solutions to the learning challenges. The journey will not be easy, especially that we are all still bouncing back from the setbacks of the last two years, but we hope that through this summit, we are taking a leap forward towards supporting our learners even more,” expresses Sheerene Abrea, RAFI EDU Program Head.

Inspired by its theme, Tadlas ─ a Visayan word which means to cross an expanse, RAFI EDU through the LEAD Summit hopes to cross divides and create an ecosystem of like-minded institutions and organizations to support learners to reach their full potential and increase efficiency in the education sector.

To achieve this, the summit is designed with a mix of focused group discussions, workshops, and conferences, accompanied with talks from local and international experts to forge greater understanding and inspiration for best practices. At the end of the summit, it hopes to craft an action plan with solutions that will be piloted in various learning communities.

In 2019, RAFI EDU hosted the first LEAD Summit with the goal of enhancing cross sectoral collaboration for education, learning and leadership initiatives.
