Isaiah To Rock Cebu on November 12 and 13

The highly acclaimed Jamaican concert “Isaiah” will make its way to the shores of Cebu to spread the love of God.

A unique concert, “Isaiah” is an award-winning reggae opera that will take audiences on journey through the life of prophet Isaiah, who calls for a life of God and the truth of justice and mercy rather than power and conquest. The show tells the story of the power of love and forgiveness, two values needed most in these trying times.

Five tenors from Jamaica, West Indies will join the Cebu production, along with a 27-member cast from Camerata Cultura of Bicol. Over 25 supporting cast of the production will come from local elementary and high schools, and colleges. The production is written by Rev. Fr. Richard Ho Lung, MOP, founder of the Missionaries of the Poor.

The reggae concert is organized by the Missionaries of the Poor (MOP), an international monastic order of Brothers dedicated to “joyful service with Christ on the Cross” to serve the poorest of the poor. The MOP helps communities in Cebu through its Little Lamb Center, “the first and only permanent residential facility in Cebu that caters exclusively to children with multiple disabilities,” and the House of the Lord, a home for abandoned elderly.

Isaiah the reggae opera will be staged on November 12, 2022, at 7:00 PM and November 13, 2022, at 5:00 PM at the Saint Theresa’s College of Cebu Auditorium. Interested concert goers may donate to MOP to enjoy the concert, seats are valued at Php. 1,000 for VIP/Reserved Seats, Php. 500 for Regular Adult, and Php. 300 Regular Child. Audiences will support the communities of MOP in Cebu. Donations will go to the Missionaries of the Poor communities, particularly the Little Lamb Center at Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City and The House of the Lord in Talisay City, Cebu.

The Missionaries of the Poor is a longtime partner of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI). MOP recently received a grant from RAFI, through the RAFI Dolores Aboitiz Children’s Fund (RAFI DACF), for the repair of three MOP centers that were affected by Typhoon Odette. Children in the Little Lamb Center also received adaptive wheelchairs from the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medial Center and the Latter-Day Saints Foundation.
