To celebrate the most wonderful time of the year, RAFI held its annual Christmas party at the Grand Convention Center of Cebu last December 14. With the theme, ‘A very #happyRAFI Disney Christmas’, the night was highlighted by the traditional group competition that every RAFInian looks forward to every Christmas.

In keeping with the theme, RAFInians performed musical numbers inspired from their chosen Disney movie, respectively:  The Little Mermaid, Moana, Mulan, Aladdin and Enchanted.

Aside from the group competition, the organizing committee led by the Human Resources Team did its own adaptation of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland with guest characters, among others, Rosemarie Flores as Alice, Milessa Lumanog as Merida of Brave, MJ Bangcong as Maleficent of Sleeping Beauty, Haidee Palapar as Belle, Florencio Moreno as Lumiere of Beauty and the Beast, and RAFI President and COO Dominica Chua as Jadis, the White Witch of the Chronicles of Narnia.

In her Christmas message, Ms. Dominica Chua (DBC) talked about the opportunity to examine our experiences, achievements and what we should look forward in the years to come, “I have so much optimism and trust in your ability to paddle your respective bugsays in order to reach that destination.” DBC said.

She also paid homage to the late RAFI President, Roberto “Bobby” Aboitiz, though her speech, “this year our lord Aslan left us. His passing created a void in our organization because we will miss his brand of leadership, but a deeper void in each of our hearts because we loved him dearly.”

She further added that “we shall continue to turn our heads towards the rising sun and hope for the promise of a better tomorrow… and draw strength from the legacy he left behind and be guided by the virtues he has instilled in us.”

It was a magical night for everyone, with all the fun and laughter during the performances and the excitement brought about by the raffles.

The evening ended with very high spirits, and the winners were:  4th runner-up, Mulan (I’ll Make A Man Out of You), 3rd runner up, The Little Mermaid (Kiss the Girl), 2nd runner-up, Enchanted (That’s How You Know), 1st runner-up, Moana (How Far I’ll Go) and grand prize winner, Aladdin (A Whole New World).
